Renfro “Mac” McCubbin, Jr., 84, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away February 18, 2024. A visitation will be held from 10:00-noon, Thursday, February 22nd at Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home, 119 E. Franklin St., Liberty, MO 64068. Graveside services with Military honors will follow at Missouri City Cemetery in Missouri City, MO.
Mac was born October 15, 1939 in Missouri City, MO to Renfro C. McCubbin, Sr. and Dorothy Lee McCubbin. He graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1957 and then enlisted in the Navy. He served in the Navy until 1963 and earned the rank of Gunner’s Mate aboard the Destroyer, USS Manley. After his military service, Mac worked for a short time for the Lake City Army Arsenal Plant. He then started a 39 year career for IBEW Local 124 as an electrician, retiring in 2001. Mac married the love of his life, Nancy Lee Belden, and they enjoyed almost fifty years of marriage before his passing. He was an avid golfer and loved spending time outdoors and with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Renfro and Dorothy McCubbin.
Mac is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy McCubbin; his son, Kevin McCubbin; his daughter, Tracy Sanders; his step-daughters, Sue Groenteman, and Sandy Dinnocenti (Greg); his grandchildren, Nathanial, Triston, Cole, Zoie, Blain, Lauren, Spencer, Jacqueline, and Hayley; his great-grandchildren, Raydin, Hannah, Hunt, Henry, Rachel, and Reneé; his brother, Kim McCubbin (Nadja); his nephew, Matthew McCubbin; as well as other relatives and friends.
