Kenneth Dean Salsig, a cherished son, brother, father, and partner, passed away on March 18, 2025, at the age of 33. Born on May 10, 1991, Kenny brought light and love into the lives of everyone who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Kenny was the beloved son of Julie (Bob) Chatelain and Tom (Jodee) Salsig. He was a loving father to his daughter, Desirae Salsig, and his son, Spencer Salsig, whom he adored with all his heart. He shared a deep bond with his partner, Ashley Waggoner, who stood by his side through life’s joys and challenges. Kenny was also a treasured brother to Alex (Liz) Degenhardt and Jeff Degenhardt, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Known for his infectious spirit, Kenny had a passion for the simple joys in life. His love for the outdoors was evident in the way he embraced nature—whether fishing, hiking, or simply soaking in the beauty of the world around him. Kenny’s family was a great treasure of his, and he filled their lives with love, humor, and countless unforgettable moments.
Kenny’s departure leaves an irreplaceable void, but his memory will live on through the stories shared by those who loved him, the laughter of his children, and the enduring strength of his family. His kind soul and generous spirit will forever be a guiding light to those he left behind.
He is survived by his mother, Julie (Bob) Chatelain; father, Tom (Jodee) Salsig; brothers, Alex (Liz) Degenhardt and Jeff Degenhardt; partner, Ashley Waggoner; daughter, Desirae Salsig; and son, Spencer Salsig; uncle Steve Woodworth; aunt Pam Tapp, cousins Mendi and Taylor, and many others.
A celebration of Kenny’s life will be held at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, in Liberty Missouri, on April 5th 2025. Visitation will be from 11am - 1pm with services to follow from 1pm-2pm, where family and friends can gather to honor the remarkable man he was. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share a kind word, or a moment when Kenny touched your life in some way.
Rest in peace, Kenny—you were loved beyond measure and will be missed beyond words. May God rest your soul.
