“Today”
Today you went to Heaven.
Long gone are your metal companions of the last four decades: walking braces, wheel chairs, handicap bars, and as of the last few years, oxygen tanks.
Today you are unencumbered. You can walk, skip, run, dance—all without pain.
Today you reunite with your mom, dad, husband, grandmas, grandpas, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
Today your smile is one without pain and fear. Your eyes are eternally happy.
Today your longtime foes: anxiety, doubt, vertigo, fear and pain are banished. They cannot accompany you on this part of the journey.
Today you rest and revel in a long deserved eternal life.
Today you walk among the perfect souls in heaven.
Today we mourn and begin the process of our healing and peace.
Today we say “Goodbye”…for now.
