Don was born November 23, 1939 in Richmond, MO the son of S.B. and Clara (Bright) Morrison. Growing up in Excelsior Springs, MO, Don graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1957 followed by two years at the University of Missouri.
Don began his banking career as a Teller with Commercial National Bank in 1960, leaving after 23 years, as Second Vice President of Customer Service. He continued his work in banking as a bank examiner and consultant. After retirement, he enjoyed the seasonal work of tax preparation with H&R Block.
Don loved to travel, take cruises, movies, and dining-out with his longtime girlfriend, Barbara Chauvin. In his youth, Don participated in the 4-H program and was a farmer at heart. He enjoyed the outdoors, State Fairs, and following the agriculture reports in the area. In high school, he played football for the Excelsior Springs Tigers. Forever a football fan he enjoyed Friday night high school football games, Mizzou football, and the KC Chiefs.
Don was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Jean Renee Collins; son, Ron Morrison and wife Kellie; and grandchildren, Mallory and Mitchell Morrison.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 11th at Lavelock Cemetery in Hardin, Missouri.
