Donald Lee Downing 73 years of age passed on June 15, 2021, in Springfield, Missouri at Mercy Hospital.
He was born January 9, 1948, and is survived by his wife Dianna, 3 sons, Damon L. Downing, Jason L. Noel, and Justin L. Noel. He has eight grandchildren and two brothers Ray E. Downing and David A. Downing.
Don served in the Missouri Army National Guard from 1968 to 1975 in the 635th Aviation Group in Warrensburg, MO.
He was lifelong member of the NRA Patriot Life member. Don achieved the rank of Eagle Boy Scout and was a member of the Warrensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was also an avid member of H.O.G. Don also served thirty years on the Kansas City Missouri Fire Department and retired at the rank of Captain in December 2005.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Marion E. and Betty C. Downing of Warrensburg, MO.
Family and friends who knew him will miss him greatly.
Any donations should be given to the Salvation Army in lieu of flowers.
