Craig Daniel Kretchmar, age 59, of Lathrop, Missouri passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 10, 2024. Craig was born September 10, 1965 in Dubuque, Iowa. At the age of 7, he moved to Liberty, MIssouri where he attended Lewis & Clark Elementary then went on to graduate from Liberty High School in 1983. Following high school he joined the United States Marine Corps and served until honorably discharged in 1986. After his time in the military, Craig returned to the Kansas City area and began his work in the drywall and construction business. He eventually purchased his beautiful property in Lathrop, Missouri where he loved spending time on his 20 acres.
Craig gave back to the community by donating his time and talents to Extreme Home Makeover.
Craig was preceded in death by his father Michael Hutton and grandfather Raymond Duttle.
Craig is survived by his mother Deinne (Dee) Kretchmar, his brother Jeff Kretchmar, sister Kristi Fouts, sister Ann and brother-in-law Joey Dugdale, grandmother June Duttle. Craig also leaves behind a number of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
A Marine Corps honors private family service will be followed by a Celebration of Life for friends on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Heritage Hall, 117 West Kansas Street, Liberty, MO 64068. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Veterans Community Project.
Craig had a unique sense of humor and loved to make those around him laugh. For those who knew him, know he had a hard outer shell, but a soft inner heart.
