Brian Lee Jennings, 69, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away February 23, 2022. Funeral Services will be 2:00pm, Wednesday, March 2nd, with a visitation from 12:30-2:00pm, all at Church-Archer-Pasley Funeral Home, 119 E. Franklin St., Liberty, MO 64068. Interment with Honors will follow in Fairview New Hope Cemetery in Liberty. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested for the American Diabetes Association or the Kansas City Pet Project.
Brian was born October 28, 1952 to Abner and Ruth (Williams) Jennings. He grew up in Liberty, and after graduation, Brian worked for a short time for Superior Frame and then was drafted. Brian was proud to be a Marine and earned the rank of Corporal. He earned the National Defense Medal, Rifle Marksman designation, and the Good Conduct Medal. Brian was honorably discharged in 1974. He then resumed working for Superior Frame, where he rose to the position of Foreman. Brian later worked for Reardon Pallets before retirement.
Brian married the love of his life, Deborah Hunt, on June 27, 1975 and they raised two children, Brian and Jennifer. He loved planting his garden every summer. Brian always enjoyed playing cards especially back-alley and he taught the kids to play poker. He was a big fan of John Wayne and loved watching his movies. Brian enjoyed traveling and going out to breakfast with friends. He loved all animals, but had a special spot in his heart for dogs. Brian and his co-workers were known to rescue dogs and had many around the work site.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Abner and Ruth Jennings; his sister, Barbara Martin; his brothers, Terrill Jennings and Lee Perkins; and his brother Larry Jennings and his wife Linda.
Brian is survived by his wife of 46 years, Deborah “Debbie” Jennings; his children, Brian E. Jennings, and Jennifer K. Jennings; his brother, Eugene Jennings; his nephew, Charles Compton, who was like a second son to him; his brother-in-law, J.D. Martin; his siblings, Linda Crouch (Dewain), Louise Burgoon (Jerry), Linda Yates, Jim DeLong (Diane), Karen Corum (Terry), Theresa Odneal (Paul), Wayne DeLong, and Tom DeLong (JaNae); as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
