
ALAN M. GREMLI, 58, of Liberty, died December 26, 2014. Born in Pueblo, CO, Alan resided in the Kansas City and Liberty areas for most of his life. His parents, Raymond C. and Alicia (Moran) and infant brother Michael, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Nancy of the home; brothers, Ray Jr. of Colorado and John (Brenda) of Illinois; and sister, Lynn (Ed) Loftus of California and many other extended family members and friends. Alan earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master’s in Special Education from UMKC. He joined the Clay County Juvenile Court in 1978, served as Juvenile Officer for 27 years, and was appointed Juvenile Officer/Director of Court Services in 2000, a position he held until his untimely death. Alan was a long time and very active member of the St. James Catholic Church in Liberty, and the Knights of Columbus. His civic engagement included the United Services Community Action Agency and parish liaison with the Uplift Organization. Alan was a former Scout Master and honorary member of the Tribe Mic-O-Say, known as Three Pawed Fox. Alan was an avid golfer and gardener and talented stained glass craftsman. He was a dedicated volunteer at St. James and to the Mercedarian Missionary Sisters at Our Lady of Mercy Country Home. He had a special bond with children and young adults. He enjoyed working with the youth of the parish and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Alan and Nancy loved to travel; taking trips through the United States, Canada and Europe. Services for Alan will be held at the St. James Catholic Church; visitation, Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 2-4pm, and Rosary prayed at 4pm. Mass of Christian Burial, Monday January 5th at 10:00 am, and graveside services at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Emporia, KS, Tuesday, January 6th at 12:30pm. The family requests NO flowers or plants. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of Mercy Country Home, 2115 Maturana, Liberty, MO or the St. James New Church Fund, 309 S. Stewart Rd, Liberty, MO.
