Jim was born December 26, 1960, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to James A. Partridge, Sr. and JoAnn Martinez Chapman and was a 1978 graduate of Union County High School. On September 26, 1978, Jim enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served in active duty until January 4, 1986. During his military career, Jim achieved the rank of Sergeant and was the recipient of numerous medals including the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal – 2D AWD, the Expert Badge with M16 Rifle Bar, Mechanic Badge and Drivers Badge. He also served in the 1st/334 Army Reserve Unit. Jim’s passionate patriotism was always visible in his love for serving our country. He was also a member of the Liberty VFW Post 1472. Since 2003, Jim was employed at Miami University, Oxford, as a painter. Jim was an avid fan of John Wayne and was known for taking pride in his work, caring for his cows, hunting and watching football. Jim’s greatest love and priority was his family.
Jim is survived by his children: Christina Partridge of Liberty; Jason Saltz of Minnesota; his mother: JoAnn Chapman of Connersville; his siblings: Jeff Hill and his wife, Shannon of Liberty; Dale Partridge and his wife, Julie of Virginia; Joe Partridge and his wife, Karen of Ohio; Raymond Partridge of Titusville, PA; Jackie Bowman of Indianapolis; his granddaughter: Skye Powell of Liberty; several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his father and his brother: Larry Hill, Jr.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1p.m. Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Liberty Church of Christ with Pastor David Soper officiating. Interment will follow in West Point Cemetery with military honors conducted by the men and women of the 1st/334 Army Reserve Unit. Friends may visit at the church Thursday, August 31, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. where memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty VFW, Post 1472.
