A Connersville native, Kathy was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1955, to Elias and Lillian Fox Gay. She was a 1974 graduate of Connersville High School. On May 12, 1979, Kathy was married at Central Christian Church in Connersville to John Seibert. She was employed at Stant Manufacturing in Connersville for 34 years and had worked at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio for the past four and a half years. Kathy enjoyed being with people while working at Miami, especially “her baseball boys.” The Miami University Baseball Team designated her as their honorary team captain in 2013 and selected her to throw out the first pitch of the season. In her leisure time, Kathy enjoyed crafts and cross-stitching. She liked to attend car shows and watch sports on television, especially Indiana University basketball and Notre Dame football.
Those surviving to honor Kathy’s memory include her husband of thirty-five years, John; her children: Eric Seibert and his wife, Jenna of Liberty; Brett Michael Seibert of Indianapolis; Brittany Seibert of College Corner, Ohio; her grandson: Jase Seibert; her parents: Elias and Lillian Gay of Connersville; her sister: Rita Lemen and her husband, John of Connersville; nieces, nephews and her dogs, Sadie and Chance, that were always by her side.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2014, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, College Corner, Ohio with Britt Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in College Corner Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Friday until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home to the College Corner Volunteer Fire Department.
