LEXINGTON - William Donner Arant, Sr., 84, passed away Tuesday January 16, 2018. He was born in Richland County on September 20, 1933 to the late, Sampson M. Arant and Leslie Ricard Arant. He served our country in the United States Navy as a catapult operator on the USS Lake Champlain. He was baptized at Faith Lutheran Church and attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. He was an avid Gamecocks fan. William worked 44 years for Bell South as an installer/technician.
Surviving are his wife, Myra Tiller Arant; sons, Donnie Arant and Chad (Jessica) Arant; granddaughter, Jordan Diane Arant; sister, Merlene Wolfe and his brother, Gerald Arant.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2018 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 42040, Oklahoma, OK. 73123.
