Susie and I have been friends for over 50 years starting in high school and years after!  She was such a gracious, generous, and loving friend!  Although we lived far apart, she was the catalyst in getting a group of us friends together whenever she was in town.  She was a great lady and will be missed by so many, but never forgotten!  This from the little Polish girl who lived up the street.

Susan and I were friends throughout our years at East High School.  We were in many of the same classes and the same Lit Club, Leundis.  She was very supportive and positive in her friendship with me.  I was in her wedding to Steve Deese as an attendant.  We remained in contact somewhat through US Mail.  I have treasured her email and facebook posts as we have continued  to keep in touch.  She faced the end of life like no one I've ever seen.  She was determined to live it to the fullest and enjoy all of her time.  She has encouraged me to do the same.  I am honored that she included her East High friends in a photo in her tribute video.  I miss you, friend.

I also graduated from East High with Susan and she will always hold a special place in my heart, as she was one of the first friends I made when I started as a sophomore, and our friendship continued through the years. Even though we seemed to be on opposite ends of the US, she always called me on New Year’s Day for a chat. She was a wonderful person and I can still hear her beautiful laugh. My deepest sympathies are with you. She will be missed by all her friends who remember her sweet smile and caring personality.

May you remember all the love she had for all of you and all the wonderful memories. She was so proud of all of her family and loved her grands more than life. She fought a good battle. I did not know Susan as well as the rest, but I can say this, the few times I met her, she was the most gracious and kind lady ever. We were there in June, and she took the time to ask about me and my family, even when she was in pain. She was the epitome of grace and kindness and I was blessed to have known her. The family has my condolences and prayers.

I met Susan back in 2003 when I began working with her (and all the other Deeses). I had no idea I would become such good friends with them. Susan was one of the most genuine, caring people I have known. She always asked about me and my family. I consider it a privilege to have known her. I will miss you  and I am so glad you are not sick any longer. I love you and your family and promise to keep being a good friend to Samantha knowing she will miss her mama everyday.  I will see you again one day!

I didn't meet Susan until 8th grade. We spent 5 years at East High School together.  She always had a smile on her face and it brightened the room. She was a very friendly and wonderful person. I haven't seen her in years, but I will miss her. Remembering how nice she was to everyone.  The world needs more people like her. God will care for you now my friend. 

We graduated from East High school together in 1970. I am so blessed to have gotten to see Susan again several times in K C MO at Fun House Pizza and the last time at her moms house in May. She ALWAYS smiled and her kindness and then her loving generosity to me when I sick in March after not seeing each other for many years was so touching. She is finally at peace with no pain. God now has a great lady.

I shared a special bond with my Aunt Susan, that nobody knew knew other than my mom and Samantha.  I always thought that I looked like her and Sam looked liked my mom.  She was someone that I always admired. Her kindness and fun loving energy is something I envied to have in my life.  Every time I was around her I felt so free to be myself because she was never  judged me. She made all of our time together memorable. I loved her with all my heart ❤️ I will miss her all the days of my life. I can’t wait for her to greet me at the pearly gates of heaven. May her Rest In Peace until we meet again. Susan lived up the street from me growing up. We went to Manchester grade school and East High together. She was always so kind to everyone and just a wonderful person! We lost touch over the years but got back together when the East High girls got together a few years ago. I’m so thankful for that! I’m so thankful for those visits over the last few years! She was a bright light and will be missed so much!

Susan reached out to a friend, who then made other contacts and brought us East High School friends back together. Our first get together was April 15, 2012, picture of our first time together is below. Our group varied in size from visit to visit, with each one being special. Sharing our current lives, pictures and old school memories... we laughed and shared so much.  Susan was so kind, her smile and interest with which she cared intently about each of us was so special. There was one time we sat at Fun House Pizza on 40 Highway and sang the school song loud and proud!  We loved the reconnection she helped begin... we loved her!  Rest in peace sweet friend. 

Linda and I are so sorry for your loss. Susan was the most graceful and sweetest lady we had the privilege to know for the past sixteen years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Susan meant so much to me.  She was full of joy and grace, a beautiful person inside and out. We graduated from high school together, and really enjoyed visiting when she came to Kansas City.  I am glad she was a part of my life. I am a better person for having known her. Rest well, my friend. 

Susan Deese was one of the most respectable and influential women in my life. She was graceful, loving, kind, caring, and beautiful. I will never forget her sweet personality and the way she cared for me as a young child. Sending  peace and comfort to her family during this difficult time. She loved you all so much.

I remember all our long walks on the beach . Susan will be forever etched in my memories. I am so blessed to have had you in my life and blessed that she was my friend
