Sherry White Marshall

Sherry graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School, in Jackson, in 1961. She later earned her R.N. degree from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, in Vicksburg, where she met her future husband, Ted. They were married in 1964. Their life together took them from Vicksburg to Kailua, Hawaii, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and finally to the Irmo and Lexington areas of South Carolina. She spent most of her nursing career working with expectant mothers at the Richland County Health Department, retiring in 2004 after 20 years of service. Her retirement years were spent enjoying her family, traveling, volunteering with the St. Vincent DePaul Society, serving on her neighborhood HOA board, scrapbooking, and playing cards with neighborhood friends.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lee C. “Ted” Marshall, Jr.; her four children, Lee C. Marshall III (Tammy), Jennifer Champagne (Charlie), Robert Marshall (Bethany), and Patrick Marshall (Amy); six grandchildren whom she adored, Katie Champagne, Lauren Champagne, Wyatt Marshall, Eli Marshall, Emerson Marshall, and Knox Marshall; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and four siblings, Margaret Reed, Kathleen Farrior, Joy Holmes, and Dr. Henry “Sonny” White.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, May 20th, 2024, at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, 120 Marydale Lane, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service, between 9:30 am and 10:15 am, in the church narthex.

The family wishes to thank the staffs of Lexington Medical Center, Lexington Community Hospice House – Agape Care, and the many neighborhood friends who assisted in her care.
