Sammy A Watkins

LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Sammy Alford Watkins, 76, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Honorary Pallbearers will be 1 grandson and 2 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979.

Mr. Watkins was born December 14, 1936 in Monroe, NC and passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013. Mr. Watkins was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. He loved to garden and loved to fish. Sammy was retired from South Carolina Electric and Gas and was originally from Monroe, NC and had been here for 38 years.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Ann Watkins; brothers, Dwight Watkins and Bill Watkins; children, Terry (Cheryl) Huntley, Johni (Jim) Frye, Susan Huntley and Lorri ( Darren) Olson; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; nephews, Rick (Lori) Watkins, David (Rhonda) Watkins and 3 great-nieces.

Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
