Percy W. Barefoot III

Percy W. Barefoot, III, 49, of West Columbia, SC, loving husband, father, and son, entered eternal life on Thursday, April 10, 2025. He was born on February 11, 1976, in Columbia, SC, to Cynthia (Susie) E. Barefoot and Percy W. Barefoot, Jr.

A 1994 graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School, where he met his sweetheart, Jennifer, with whom he enjoyed 25 years of marriage.

Percy was employed as a Locomotive Engineer by Norfolk Southern Corporation for over 19 years. He was a loyal and dedicated employee, respected by his peers.

Percy had boundless love and devotion for his family and friends. His family was the joy of his life, always. He was an avid outdoorsman who took Jennifer, Marley, and Chance on many exciting adventures on land and water. Everyone enjoyed his bountiful catches. He had an innate ability to solve any problem. If you needed to know how to do anything, just ask Percy.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Harwell Barefoot; daughter, Marley Barefoot; son, Chance Barefoot; mother, Susie Barefoot; and siblings, Bonnie and Clifton.

He was predeceased by his father, Percy Barefoot, Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072, with visitation to follow.
