LEXINGTON - Patricia “Patty” Corley Grant, wife of W. Kent Grant passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the age of 77. Patty was born on November 1, 1940 in Lexington, S.C. She was the daughter of the late M.L. and Cecile Sox Corley also of Lexington, S.C.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 2:00pm with interment to follow at Woodridge Memorial Park. The service will be officiated by Rev. Nathan Gragg and Rev. Dr. Patrick Riddle. Pallbearers will be Heyward Addy, Mark Bennington, Chadd Corley, Karson Corley, Kregg Corley, Phil Lindler and Jeff Tarlton.
Patty was a graduate of Lexington High School in 1958. She also graduated from Palmer College where she met her husband of 57 years. Kent and Patty owned and operated Oak Grove Superette for many years. She was a former employee of Key Life Insurance Company in Columbia and various CPA firms around the Lexington area. She was an avid sports fan and loved cheering for her Gamecocks. Patty spent many hours in the old station wagon driving her children around to football, basketball, baseball, softball and dance.
Mrs. Grant is survived by her loving husband; sons, Russell Grant (Sherie), Brian Grant (Lisa) and a daughter, Michelle Black (Ivan); ten grandchildren, Jade Mayer (Major Matthew Mayer), Zackery Grant (Courtney), Amber Grant, Delaney Grant, Graylen Grant, Bailey Black, Grant Black, Elizabeth Anne Grant, Emilee Black and Cooper Grant; one great-grandchild, Peyton Grant. She is also survived by her brother Dwight Corley (Nita), sister, Janice Lindler (Ron); sister-in-law Gail Corley, brothers-in-law Gene Grant (Myrtis) and Larry Grant (Dottie) along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Samuel “Sam” Corley.
