Ned Tarlton of Lexington, SC passed away March 7, 2020. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Lexington Baptist Church with burial immediately following at Woodridge Memorial Park, Lexington, SC. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home in Lexington.
Mr. Tarlton was born in Great Falls, SC on September 24, 1938 to the late Betty Kathleen and Luther Earl “Luke” Tarlton. He was a graduate of Great Falls High School, Spartanburg Junior College, and the University of South Carolina. He was a teacher, football, and basketball coach at Lower Richland High School, Lexington High School, and Brookland Cayce High School. He was inducted into the Lexington High School Hall of Fame in 2016. He was a member of Lexington Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Morrow Tarlton of Lexington, SC; sons, Scott Tarlton of Lexington, SC, and Jeff Tarlton of Lexington, SC; a daughter, Lisa Tarlton Stokes (John Patrick Stokes Jr.) of Lexington, SC; a granddaughter, LeeAnne Stokes; brothers, Ronnie Tarlton (Janice) of Warner Robbins, GA, Richard Tarlton (Mary Sue) of China Grove, NC; a sister, Ellen Lee (James, deceased) of Kershaw, SC; sisters-in-law, Pat Tarlton of Lexington, SC, and Brenda Couch (Donald) of Pickens, SC; an uncle, Ervin Tarlton (Rhonda) of Great Falls, SC, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Tarlton.
