Narmadaben Patel

We gather here today to celebrate the life of Narmadaben.

She was born on August 14, 1942 in Kantali, Gaam. She was a daughter of Dhudhi ben and Chitu bhai Patel. She grew up in a family with four brothers.

After Narmadaben Patel graduated from school, she married Ishverbhai Patel and moved to Sampura, Gaam into a bigger family where she was loved by everyone in the family and Gaam. Then in 1965 she moved to Navsari; from there in 1989 she moved to the US with her husband. They operated a hotel and she spent her life with her grandkids and family and friends.

She loved to cook and feed. No one has gone from her home without eating. She loved to talk with everyone and could make a friend in a minute. She loved to sing bhajan and garba, read books and watch TV shows. Before anyone left her home, they had to tell her where they were going and when they were coming back. She waited until everyone came back home, no matter how long.

She is survived by her kids, Sheshikant, Renukaben (Tameshbhai), Ritaben (Himanshu), Prakash (Jimuben); grandkids, Krusangi, Mitesh, Sagar, Trupti (Heetan), Rosan (Amy), Rishi, Hiren, Sai and great grandkids, Savina and Zaden.

A funeral service for Narmadaben will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072.
