Mary worked for Standard Savings and Loan in Columbia, SC, and later in the library at Oak Grove Elementary in Lexington, SC. She was a Bridge club member at the Country Club of Lexington, a volunteer at Pleasant Hill Elementary School, an avid reader, puzzle solver, and beach lover. She loved her family and friends dearly and enjoyed every moment spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, James Laurence Morris; her son, Richard Morris and his wife, Jessica; grandsons, Mason and Preston Morris; her daughter, Gretchen Morris Crosswell; her grandchildren: Lila, Jack, Sawyer, and Henry Crosswell; and her sisters, Linda Howell and Rachel Otis.
She was predeceased by her parents, Puett and Lila Rowell.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. A visitation will be held afterwards with family.
