Mary Helen Jeffers, 80, of Lexington County, SC was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 19, 2023. She was born in Batesburg, SC on November 15, 1942 to James Carlos Dimsdale and Mary Pearl Grice Dimsdale.
Mary Helen was affectionately known as Maw-Maw and was the epitome of selflessness. She took care of all those around her and did it with humility and grace. Mary Helen loved to shop, spend time with her family and friends, church family, and plant flowers. Above all else, she loved the Lord. Her laugh was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
Mary is survived by her husband, Murray Jeffers of Lexington, SC; her daughter, Sherri Jaynes (Scott) of Gilbert, SC; grandchildren: John Ashley Roof (Kristen), Kristen Roof, Tara Greenwood (Eric), Brandon Jeffers, Sarah Johnson (Brad), Taylor Jeffers-Gray, and Michael Yates; great-grandchildren: Nate, Riley, Jordan, Jasmine, Cali, Jeremy, Kassidy, Emery, Watson, Kourtney, Finley, and Eloise; her sister, Betty Ann Sturkie (Donnie) and brother, Jimmie Dimsdale (Joan).
She was predeceased by her son, Murray Randall “Randy” Jeffers; her daughter, Amy Jeffers and her grandson, Desmond “Desi” Jeffers.
A funeral service for Mary will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 25, 2023 at Red Bank Baptist Church, 1357 South Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29073 with a visitation to follow in the church sanctuary. A burial will take place in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: John Ashley Roof, Nate Roof, Riley Yates, Michael Yates, Eric Greenwood, and Brad Johnson, along with honorary pallbearer, Cole McGrady.
