Jane attended public schools in Stamford, Connecticut and graduated from Ocean City High School. She received a BA degree in Zoology from Winthrop College and a MEd from USC in Secondary Science.
She worked for Lexington School District II Airport High School from 1963-1970 as a Science, Biology and Physics teacher and at Brookland-Cayce High School from 1976-1993 as a Biology teacher. She was an HIV/AIDS Prevention Coordinator for the Lexington/Richland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council and retired in 2006. Following retirement, she enjoyed reading (member of Wolfgang Book Club), watching TV and movies, going out to eat with friends and playing Bridge with her monthly Bridge group.
Jane is survived by her sons, Steve Stanley Coppock, Jr. of LA and James Andrew Coppock (Michelle Rabun-best daughter-in-law ever!) of Lexington and grandchild, Rabun Wright Coppock.
She was predeceased by her sister, Joanne Elliott.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
