He is survived by his wife, Sandra Eby Pittman of 69 years. He is also survived by his four children, Debra Black (Kenneth), Cheryl Catt, Steven Pittman (Denise), and Laura Hoshaw; nine grandchildren: Jeremy, Amanda, Ryan, Andrew, Kayla, Morgan, Emmalee, Leann, and Kathryn; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Beverly Shields and Karen Massa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dale Pittman and James Pittman.
Marvin graduated from Madison Township High School in 1952. He and his wife traveled extensively after their retirement. He was an employee of the Kawneer Manufacturing Company in Niles, Michigan and Franklin, Indiana as a manufacturing engineer. He also owned the M&S Tool and Die Company in Amity, Indiana before transferring to the Harcar Corporation in Sanford, Florida.
After living in Orange City and DeBary, Florida for 37 years, they moved to their home in Lexington, South Carolina in 2021 to be closer to their children.
He was a member of the Volusia County Baptist Church in Orange City, Florida and Kittiwake Baptist Church in West Columbia, SC.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home & Gardens in Orange City, Florida.
