Marion Higgins Merry, 85, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025. Born on March 22, 1939 in Detroit, MI, her family moved to Atlanta, GA, when she was just two months old. She attended North Fulton High School and then the University of Georgia where she received a B.S. in Education. Marion was active in the Christian Women’s Club in Chattanooga, taught multiple Bible studies throughout her life, was part of the praying ladies at Columbia International University, and was an active member at Lexington Presbyterian Church.
Marion is survived by her sister: Jeanne Neal; her 5 children: Frank Merry, Jr. (Delinda), Michael Merry, Julie Merry, Jill Timmons (Scott), and Mark Merry; her 10 grandchildren: Pierce Merry (Drue), Nicholas Merry, Sophia Merry, Sarah Esther Merry, Peter Merry, Knox Merry, Maddie Timmons, Anna Timmons, Samantha Timmons, and Patrick Timmons; her one great grandchild, Boone Merry; her brother-in-law, Don Geiger; and her nieces and nephews: Don Geiger, Jr., Sarah Poer, Margaret Henry, Tim Neal, Holly Whalen, and Krista Prorok.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, March 28, 2025, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 N. Lake Dr., Lexington, SC 29072.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Lexington Presbyterian Church, 246 Barr Road, Lexington, SC 29072. For those who are unable to attend, Lexington Presbyterian Church will be live streaming the service.
