LEXINGTON – Louise Ward Bohon Bowlin, 86, died Thursday, June 9, 2016 peacefully in her sleep at the home of her family in Columbia, SC. She was born in Harrodsburg, KY October 4, 1929, the daughter of the late Davis T. and Mary Louise Ward Bohon. She attended Picadome Elementary School in Lexington and graduated from Model High School and Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond. After her retirement from Kentucky Educational Television and the State Department of Personnel, she was an active volunteer for the Salvation Army and God’s Pantry. She was a devoted member of Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are her daughter, Mary Louise Barnes; son-in-law, Thomas W. Barnes; grandson, Christopher Bohon Barnes and great-granddaughter Hailey Anne Barnes (mother Leslie Barnes), all of Columbia, SC. She is also survived by niece Catherine Stork and great-nephew Jack Stork of Orlando, FL and nephew Frank Stork and great-niece Grace Stork of Naples, FL. She was predeceased by her parents and her cherished sister, Ann Bohon Stork of Naples, FL.
The family thanks her very special care-givers Kayla Watkins, Madison Owens and Greg Kyle. Their love and kindness cannot be surpassed. She will be buried in a private ceremony in the Bohon family section of Georgetown Cemetery.
