IRMO – Mrs. Julia Ganell “Junell” Shealy, 88, died on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. She was born on November 7, 1928, in Allendale County, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lucius Seabrook Bennett.
Funeral services will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church in White Rock, SC on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Roy Butler officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Church prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Wittenberg Lutheran Cemetery, Leesville, SC.
Mrs. Shealy graduated from Lexington High School and Newberry College, with additional studies at the University of South Carolina. During her early years, she was an elementary school teacher. Then she became more and more involved in church activities, with much of her time teaching, working with the youth, and with young adults. She was also active in the community in garden clubs and like activities.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, the Rev. Dr. E. Armand Shealy; son, Dr. Keith Douglas Shealy; daughter, Diane Shealy Senn; (Stan); grandchildren, Preston Shealy, Mims Shealy, Bryan Senn (Susanne) and Lindsay Senn Canniff-Kuhn (Jesse); great-grandson, Witten Canniff-Kuhn; nephew, Brooks T. Bennett, Jr. (Shirley), along with grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Brooks T. Bennett, Sr.
