LEXINGTON - Larry Weil, Sr., of Lexington, SC, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 19, 2018. Born on August 9th, 1935 in Washington DC, he was the son of Freda Wolf Kaiser and Edward Louis Weil. He was a graduate of Leonard Hall Naval Academy in Leonardtown, MD; Oxford Academy in Pleasantville, NJ; and Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, WV, where he earned a BA in Business Administration. He served in the Armed Forces from 1958 thru 1960. Larry was self-employed as a house painter. He was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church where he was involved with various activities including the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed all types of hunting, but his true passion was deep-sea fishing. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, National Wildlife Federation, National Turkey Federation, Quality Deer Management Association, National Bass Anglers Association, SC Law Enforcement Officers Association, and the National Republican Party. He was a sponsor of Lexington Little League Baseball and Softball for many years. He volunteered countless hours for various organizations, and was an annual donor to several children’s homes.
Larry is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John Lawrence Weil, Jr. (Darlene); daughter, Sherryl Ann Weil; grandchildren, Eva Kristen Weil Roof (Ashley), Tyler Lawrence Weil, Raylee June Weil and Emma June Jones; and great grandchildren Eva Kassidy Roof and Ellanore Kourtney Roof. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Reba June Talton Weil and infant daughter, Teresa Lynn Weil, his parents, maternal grandparents, Gustave and Sophie Wolf, paternal grandparents Fred and Annie Weil.

Visitation will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, at 9:30 a.m., with service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Woodridge Cemetery, 138 Corley Mill Rd., Lexington.
