LEXINGTON - Mr. John Cellous “J.C.” Taylor, 79 of Lexington, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with burial to follow in Lexington Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 1, 2014 at the funeral home.
Born June 17, 1935 he was the son of the late Cellous Efird and Blanche Kyzer Taylor and the husband of the late Ann Owens Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a lifelong resident of Lexington County and an employee of Foremost Pipeline for 37 years. He was a loving son, husband, father, Papa, and Big Papa.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his children, Kaye (Alvin) Harmon, Ronnie (Alita) Taylor, Vivian (Randy) Smith and Diane (Bruce) Brown all of Lexington; grandchildren, Tracey (Stan Sawyer) Harmon, Morgan Taylor, Daniel (Erin) Smith, John and Brooke Taylor, Courtney (Chris) Lindsey, Kristen and Alissa Brown and 6 great-grandchildren. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his wife; sons, Donnie and Kenneth; grandson, Brandon Taylor; mother and father; brother, Rayford Taylor and sister, Margaret Rachel Elizabeth (Tiny) Heywood.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Smith, John Taylor, Stan Sawyer, Chris Lindsey, Rickey Heywood and Wayne Owens. The family would like to thank all of the employees within the Lexington Medical Center care system for their support during his 15 month battle with multiple health issues and Hospice Care of Tri-County for their support in his last days.
