John Robert Kemp

He graduated High School from Featherstone High School in Southall Middlesex. Following high school, he went to work in several business in the area until moving to the United States in 1999. He met his future wife, Lisa, in Columbia in 2003 and married in 2005. They welcomed their son, Jake on September 1, 2004. He served as Senior Maintenance Technician for apartment complexes throughout South Carolina.

Outside of his family, his other loves included Rugby, the Arsenal FC Soccer Club, and his dogs. He joins his other dogs in heaven: Sally, Freckles, Freckles, Jr., Cody, and Buster.

Surviving are his wife (Lisa), his son (Jake), his dogs (Dexter, Dabo, and Ginger) his parents (John and Marilyn), his step-father (Tony), his sister(Sam) and her husband (Ian), their 2 children (Joe and Eva), his mother-in-law (Linda), father-in-law (Mac), his brother-in-law (John) and his children (Abbey and Izzy).

He was, in this order:

A great father to his son

A loving husband to his wife

A good son to his parents

And, with a smile on his face, a friend to everyone he met.

“Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”

A visitation for John will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, South Carolina 29072.
