Jerry Walter Wright, 62, passed away on Monday, January 1st, 2024 at his home. Jerry was the youngest of six children and was born in Columbia, South Carolina to the late James Walter Wright and Dorothy Pearce Wright.
Jerry worked at Chatham Steel Corporation for 31 years. He was loved fiercely by his family and was a beloved son, brother, and uncle. In life, Jerry loved God, his family, his cats, and sports. He loved football, basketball, and baseball and was an avid fan of the Carolina Gamecocks. Jerry always looked on the bright side of life and made a positive impact on others. He will be remembered for his laugh and warm smile.
He is survived by his sister, Kathy Wright Wilson (Ricky).
He was predeceased by his brothers, James Leon Wright (Dorothy) and Jimmy Roy Wright (Estelle); and sisters, Betty Rosie Sanders (George) and Vernetta McGrady (Shorty).
A visitation for Jerry will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072 with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. An interment will take place after the service at Lexington Memorial Cemetery, 1772-1782 W. Main Street, Lexington, SC 29072.
