Jane B. Munn

Jane Barfield Munn, 76, of West Columbia, SC passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023. She was born in Wateree, SC on June 5, 1947 to the late Bailey and Janie Barfield. She was a graduate of Camden High School where she met her husband, the late Harold D. Munn. Jane was an X-Ray Technologist, Registered Nurse, and a Certified College Health Nurse. She retired from the University of South Carolina, where she enjoyed working with students at the Thomson Student Health Services Center.

Jane was a long-time member of the Cayce Chapter #260 Order of the Eastern Star. She held many offices in that organization on both the local and state levels. Jane served as Worthy Matron of Cayce Chapter, was secretary for many years, and was the Eastern Star Representative to Arizona. She was dedicated to serving the Eastern Star and was respected throughout the state of South Carolina for her hard work and her years of commitment. She enjoyed crafting of all kinds and often prepared flower arrangements for various events. She also loved cats and will be greatly missed by Comet, her latest feline companion.

In addition to her husband of 50 years, Jane was predeceased by her oldest daughter, Gretchen Dickinson. She is survived by her younger daughter, Heather Little of Mint Hill, NC (Jason); son-in-law, Don Dickinson of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Emory Little, Bryson Little, and Kevin Dickinson (Jennifer); and great-grandchildren, K.J. and Harper Dickinson.

A funeral service for Jane will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC. Entombment will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens, 3111 Delree Street, West Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel.
