In 1947, at the tender age of 10, Jane met Jimmy on the steps of Salley Baptist Church and fell in love. She graduated from Salley High School in 1955 and later went on to be crowned Miss Aiken County. Jane and Jimmy were married in 1956 and had four children, Jimmy Jr., Karen, Robbie and Becky. She dedicated her life to her family and her church where she spent over 25 years with the youth. This included going on many camping trips and taking the youth to Atlanta, Boston and New York, etc. She was a longtime choir member and loved to sing, even up to her last days.
She is predeceased by her father, Nathan; her mother, Francis; her brother, Bob; two sisters, Carolyn and Betsy; her son, Robbie and her grandson, Brock. She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy of 66 years; her son, Jimmy Jr. (Tina); her daughters, Karen Brawley (Bennie) and Becky Dillon; grandchildren, Bennie IV, Latisha (Jeremy), Nicole, Brandon (Lindsay), Michelle (Garron), Blake, Cody, Justin (Amber) and 17 great grandchildren.
She was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Northside Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.
