Jim was born in Brush Valley, PA. He moved to Lexington in 1967 with his wife and five children. He transferred from Campus Sportswear in Indiana, PA to Lexington Sportswear where he later became plant manager for over 30 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Peggy; his son, Jeff; his brother, Bill and his parents, William and Carrie Walsh.
He is survived by his sister, Beverly Berezansky (Paul); his children, Robin Andrews, Jimmy Walsh (Candy), Carrie Schilling (Barry), Beth Wilson (Corky), and Jack Walsh (Wendi); sisters-in-law, Sis Hendrickson and Brenda Walsh; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was an active member of the Lexington Community. He was a member of Lexington District 1 school board and a member of the Lexington Chamber of Commerce. He was a long-time member of Lexington United Methodist Church. He enjoyed being a member of Lexington Rotary Club for 40 years. He was a trusted member and served as both president and treasurer. He was instrumental in organizing fundraisers to provide scholarships for local students.
Jim enjoyed sewing for friends and family and spending time with his family. He enjoyed family trips, gatherings, and time with his children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Lexington United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
