He was predeceased by his father, JD Evans Sr.; his mother, Julia Hanna Evans; sisters, Judy Singletary (Johnny) and Joyce Roberts (Toby); and his two brothers, Joe and Jerry Evans.
He leaves behind a devoted and loyal wife of 57 years, Becky; daughter, Jeannie (Tim Price); daughter, Julie Duncan; sons, Jimbo (Helen) and Joel (Phillip); and his brother, Jaron (Annette). Also mourning his loss are his three grandsons, Hunter Duncan, Jack Evans, and Joe Evans; his beloved dog, Jed, and numerous nieces and nephews which he adored.
The family was assisted with his home health care by the wonderful staff of Amedisys. They were truly a blessing to the family during these last several weeks. We could not have gotten through this without Hailey, Heather and Brandy.
Visitation services will be provided by Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072, on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. The funeral service will take place at Florence Baptist Church, 1720 Windy Wood Rd, Pelion, SC on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will take place afterwards at the church cemetery.
