LEXINGTON – Helen Couch Harvey, of Lexington, SC, was born in Warrenville, SC on December 16, 1943. She passed away on June 23, 2016. Her parents, Earl and Lois Couch of Langley, SC; her husband, Arnold LaRyan Harvey, Sr.; stepson, Arnold LaRyan Harvey, Jr.; brother, Richard V. Couch; brother, A.B. Couch and sister, Lois Keck, predeceased Helen. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Rhonda DeCrescenzo of Darien, GA; stepson, Bryan Keith Harvey of Orangepark, FL; grandson, Brandon DeCrescenzo of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughter, Amanda Rader of Clarksville, TN; grandson, Chase Sandlin of Swainsboro, GA; great- granddaughter, Dahlia DeCrescenzo; great-grandson, Hudson Rader; sister, Mary Ellen Mitchell of Lexington, SC; brother, Earl B. Couch (Sonny) of Lexington, SC; brother, G. Edward Couch of Beach Island, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.
The FBI employed Helen for 33 years, from which she retired in 2000 while living in Savannah, GA. She had assignments in Washington, DC, Columbia, SC, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, San Francisco, CA, and Savannah, GA. Helen received numerous awards for her work with the FBI.
Helen loved to travel and touched on every state in the US, as well as many foreign countries. She loved listening to all types of music and always had a song in her heart. Helen was an avid USC Gamecock fan. She had a heart for the elderly and loved visiting with and ministering to them.
There will be a celebration of life memorial service at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church, Lexington, SC on Monday, June 27, 2016. Visitation with the family will be at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, prior to the memorial service at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Helen wishes memorials are made to “Above & Beyond”, Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church, 1205 Old Cherokee Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
