Grace Ryan Coleman

CROSSHILL – A memorial service for Grace Ryan Coleman, 48, will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society, 235 Wilbanks Circle, Greenwood, SC 29649.

Grace was born on August 21, 1962 in Heidelberg, Germany and passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011. She was a daughter of William Ryan and Gisela Mehler Ryan Pearson. Grace was a graduate of Brookland Cayce High School and attended Midlands Technical College. She was a graduate of Piedmont Technical College with an associate’s degree in social services. Grace was a counselor with the South Carolina Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. She enjoyed gardening and loved her animals, Jake and Nikita. She was a very creative person and loved helping other people.

Mrs. Coleman is survived by her husband, Angelo Eugene Coleman of Crosshill, SC; mother, Gisela Pearson (Maurice) of West Columbia; father, William Ryan of Maine; brother, Ken Ryan (Amanda) of Lexington; sister, Cindy Ryan of West Columbia; step son, Jonathan Coleman of Piedmont; niece, Kristin; nephew, Jacob and her loving pets. She was predeceased by her aunt, Carol Strambicki and maternal grandmother, Margarete Mehler.
