Eric William Klatt was born December 8, 1949 in Austin, TX, and passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Lexington Medical Center Hospital. He was the son of Alice DeForest Klatt Harvey and the late Emil H. Klatt, Jr. He graduated with honors from Culver Military Academy, where he was a member of the prestigious Black Horse Troop. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Emory University and a Master’s Degree from the University of South Carolina. He was employed by Beaufort County and retired after 28 years of faithful service. He was a quiet man who was devoted to his family and dearly loved by all who knew him.
Eric is survived by his wife, Tracy O’Kelly Klatt; son, Eric William Klatt, Jr. (Lindsay); daughters, Elizabeth Armstrong Klatt and Kathryn Diane Klatt; grandsons, Rice, Daniel, and Henry; granddaughters, Maeve, Fiona, and Darcy; his mother, Alice DeForest Klatt Harvey; brother, Emil H. Klatt, III (Barbara); sister, Suzanne Klatt Thompson (Steve); sister, Diane Lenski Sexton (Stan); and a host of beloved family and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the Parish Church of St. Helena in Beaufort, SC. Inurnment will be private.
