Edward Bryan “Buzz” Kohn, age 74 of West Columbia, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, in Lexington, SC. He was born on October 29, 1949, in Lexington County and was the son of Henry Pinckney Kohn, Sr. and Madelyn Force Sessions.
Edward graduated from Brookland Cayce High School in Cayce, SC and was a member of the band. He served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC (1969-1971). Following his military service, he was a heavy equipment operator in California. He retired after 22 years as an Assistant Supervisor of the West Columbia Water Plant (1988-2010). He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed traveling.
He was predeceased by his parents and his namesake uncle, Edward Bryan Kohn who died in a Japanese POW Camp in Cabanatuan, Philippines.
He is survived by his brother, Henry P. Kohn, Jr (Barbara) of Myrtle Beach, SC; nephews, Michael Bryan Kohn, (Jessica) of San Antonio, TX and Nicholas Lee Kohn (Marissa) of New York, NY; a niece, Christina Swanson (Mike) of Redlands, CA; a great niece, Analicia Swanson and great-nephews, Oliver Henry Kohn, Max Edward Kohn, August Lee Kohn, Sullivan Nicholas Kohn and Mason Swanson.
At his request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
