WEST COLUMBIA - Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Red Bank United Methodist Church, Lexington, SC, with visitation one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Mrs. Berry, 86, died Friday, October 16, 2015 at Agape Hospice House of Columbia. Born in Bamberg County, January 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Edna Atteberry Way. Mrs. Berry left a promising career with Southern Bell to become a full-time mother and homemaker. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sewing and gardening as well. One of her favorite pastimes was rummaging thru flea markets and the Good Will for bargains and listening to gospel music. She was also an avid baseball fan. But most of all she loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Surviving are two daughters, Wanda Metts (Floyd) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Robin Williams of West Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Laurie, Jennifer, Barrett (Alicia), Chase and Julia; great-grandchildren, Brett, Breanna and Brody. She is survived by sisters, Betty Robinson (J.P.), Jimmie Lee Hartzog (Caleb) of Bamberg, SC and Annette Delk of Summerville, SC and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman M. Berry, a sister, Harriet Brennan of Towanda, PA and grandson, Stacy Metts of Lexington, SC. Interment will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC.
