LEXINGTON – Edna Joan Bedenbaugh, 68, of Lexington, passed away peacefully at her home with her husband by her side on October 12, 2017. She was born in Saluda County, South Carolina, to the late D. W. and Louise Berry. She lived a life full of service and honor to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She taught Sunday school for more than 35 years. She was the director of “This Man Called Jesus,” a Christmas drama ministry of Lake Murray Baptist Church in Lexington, SC. Joan enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, cooking, planting spring flowers and spending time with family and friends. Her primary desire was for all her family and friends to know and embrace the love of God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She wanted to know she would see them all again in heaven. Joan was a wonderful, godly wife and mother. She was an example of the Proverbs 31 woman and the faithful servant described in Titus 2. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lexington on Barr Road. Surviving is her loving husband of 48 years, Mike Bedenbaugh; daughters, Darlene McCormick (Mike) and Tammy Howard (Jason) of Lexington County; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katelyn and Sarah McCormick, Emily and James Howard; brothers, David Upchurch (Margaret), Earl Berry (Donna) and the late Harold Berry (Brenda); brother-in-law, Ronnie Bedenbaugh (Dale) plus many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to First Baptist of Lexington Building Fund or the Connie Maxwell Children’s Home. The family will receive friends at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist of Lexington, Barr Road, on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Woodridge Memorial Park.
