Charlotte Johnson White of Lexington, SC, formerly of Hanahan, SC, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James Heyward “Jim” White and by grandson, David Taylor Korman and great grandson, Milo Cooper McDaniel. She was 83.
Charlotte was born and grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the only child of James Ferdie Johnson and Dorathy Abbott Johnson. She and Jim attended Texas Christian University, marrying in 1959. In 1961 Jim, a pilot, was stationed at Charleston Air Force Base. The couple settled in Hanahan where they lived for 55 years. Charlotte moved to The Presbyterian Community of Columbia in 2017 where she enjoyed wonderful friendships and fellowship. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, blessing the lives of her family and so many others.
She is survived by daughters, Wendy W. Cruce (Jeff) of Charlotte, NC; Deeann W. Beers (Val) of Lexington, SC and Jamie W. Korman (William), also of Lexington; grandchildren, Heyward C. McDaniel (Blair) and Mackenzie C. Cognetti (Greg) of Rock Hill, SC, Will Beers (Olivia) of Columbia, Charlotte Anne Beers of Raleigh, NC, Bennett Beers, Emily Korman, James Mark Korman, Abigail Korman, Daniel Korman, all of Lexington and great grandchildren, Sullivan and Cooper McDaniel of Rock Hill.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 20, at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary of The Presbyterian Community of Columbia, 700 DaVega Drive, Lexington, SC. Visitation with family will precede the service from 1:00 - 2:00 pm in the sanctuary.
