When Charles Moore, Jr. passed away at home on October 12, 2021 he was doing what brought him the most meaning in life—keeping the company of people he loved. At the end of a months-long process of cancer treatment, Charlie embraced Chari, his fiancée, and held his daughter Sylvia’s hand in his final moments. Charlie was 59 years old.
Charlie was an automotive technician for over thirty years, and both family and friends remember his eagerness to help anyone with car trouble at a moment’s notice. Charlie graduated from Dreher High School in 1980, and went on to attend Midlands Technical College. Charlie always loved cars—in addition to working with automobiles, he raced cars during his youth and was always an avid NASCAR fan. Charlie also found a great deal of fulfillment in nature. He loved to camp, fish, and garden.
Charlie's greatest legacy lives on in the love he shared with his fiancée, family, friends, and the pets he rescued. In addition to those already mentioned, Charlie is survived by his son, Calvin; daughters, Ashya, Amber, and Cheyanne; his grandchildren, Steven, Luke, Cade, Leslie, Carson, and Montgomery; his brothers, William and Robert; his father, Charles Sr. and his mother, Vickey.
