Bill Williams

Bill was born on April 27, 1948 in Waterloo, Iowa to Bert and Bonnie Williams. He dedicated 35 years of his life to public service and retired as the Marshall County Assessor.

Bill found joy in the simple pleasures in life. Golf was his favorite pastime, and he could often be found on the course, enjoying the sport with passion and skill. Yet, his greatest happiness came from being with his beloved grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them, reveling in their laughter and growth, and creating treasured memories that will forever be held close to their hearts.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marlene Williams, with whom he shared a bond of love and devotion that stood the test of time. He was a proud and caring father to his daughter, Anne Williams and son, Adam Williams (Priscilla), and their lives were enriched by his unwavering love and support. He will forever remain in the hearts of his grandchildren, Avery (Lisa), Alex, Austin, Aidan, and Asher, who adored their grandpa, shared in countless joyful experiences with him, and brought him immeasurable joy. He was also blessed to have two great grandchildren, Cole and Claire.

Additionally, Bill leaves behind his sisters, Kate and Judy; brother, Clyde; extended family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Bonnie; his brothers, Dennis and Mel, as well as his sisters, Linda and Cindy.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Saturday October 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m at Riverside Cemetery Chapel 611 N. Center St. Marshalltown, IA 50158. The gathering will be an opportunity to honor his life, share fond memories, and support each other during this difficult time of loss.

During this time of grief, let us find solace in the wonderful memories we shared with Bill. His legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family will forever inspire us. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
