Bennie Faye Sturkie

Bennie was predeceased by her parents, Gene Senn and Genelle Hyman; brothers, Larry Gardner (Jackie) and Johnny Gardner (Kathy), and children, Arthur W. Sturkie Jr., Karen L. Sturkie, and Melissa G. Sturkie.

She was survived by her husband, Arthur W. Sturkie Sr. and daughter, Doris G. Horsley; grandchildren, Ashley Hayden (Chad), Amber Buckley (Jason), Arthur W. Sturkie III, Kristina Belger (Mark), Courtney Day (Shane), DJ Horsley, Jennifer Sturkie, Cody Sturkie (Kaitlyn), and Dalton Sturkie (Taylor); great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Aaliyah, Paige, Kaitee, Aurora, Liam, Layla, Alex, Callie, and Mia.

Bennie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved going to church and reading her Bible. She loved to sing, dance, cook, and spend time with her family.

The family will be accepting visitors at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel on Thursday September 29, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. There will be no service. The family will have a private celebration of her life after the visitation for immediate family members.
