Anne Josephine Becker, 92, was welcomed by our Lord God on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at her daughter’s home from complications related to a long term illness. She was in home hospice for a year prior to her death. Anne died peacefully in her sleep.
Her nickname was Skip, but most of her friends called her Skippy.
She leaves a brother, Raymond M. Skibinski of New Jersey; sons, John Clifford Frederick and wife, Marcia of South Carolina, Raymond M. Frederick and wife, Barbra, James G. Frederick and wife, Dorothy, and Gary M. Frederick, all of New Jersey; a daughter, Jane M. Dillon and husband, Donald of South Carolina and daughter-in-law, Elaine Frederick of New Jersey. Anne also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” John Becker on November 24, 1999; a son, Leonard A. Frederick, 65, on November 2, 2016; sisters, Stephanie Fazekas, Jane Zisko and Helen Kaczmarek.
Anne was of the Roman Catholic faith. She attended St. Stephen’s parochial school and graduated from Perth Amboy High School in New Jersey. She was employed by Perth Amboy General Hospital and subsequently John F. Kennedy Hospital in Edison, New Jersey as a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed her work tremendously. Anne provided comfort and compassion to all her patients. Her joy was caring for the newborns in the nursery.
One of Ann’s passions was flower arranging. She was employed part time by State Flower Shop in Perth Amboy, giving her many opportunities to display her skills. Later in life, she devoted her time to caring for her family. Children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, along with their friends were deeply loved. She was the consummate “Momma Bear”.
A celebration of life will be scheduled later in the year in her home state of New Jersey.
