LEXINGTON – A memorial service for Major (ret) Andrew Joseph Breen, 80, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with inurnment in Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall at the church. Memorials may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2350 Augusta Hwy, Lexington, SC 29072.
Major Breen was born December 4, 1934 in Glens Falls, NY and passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015. He was the son of the late, Daniel E. Breen and Mary Maginn Breen. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and a graduate of College of The Holy Cross in Worcester, MA in 1956. Mr. Breen served our country in the United States Air Force for 20 plus years reaching the rank of Major at retirement. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service during the Vietnam War. His greatest joy was to have a house full of family and friends, enjoying an abundance of food and drinks out by the lake.He is survived by the love of his life, wife, Marie Breen of Lexington; sons, Col. (ret) Edward Breen (Angela) of Illinois and Col. (ret) Joseph Breen (Michelle) of Florida; daughters, Andrea Bushey (Col. David) of Lexington and Kelly Breen of New York; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert E. Breen of Texas and his cousins, Marcia Lynch of New York and Mike Maginn of Blythewood. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
