Yvette J. Morin

AUBURN- Yvette J. Morin, 82, of Wells and formerly of Lewiston, passed away on Monday August 10, 2015 at the Hospice House of Androscoggin following a courageous battle with dementia. She was born in Lewiston, Maine on September 26, 1932 the daughter of the late Donat and Alice (Perreault) Gagne. She lived in Lewiston her entire life and worked at Hanna Shoe for a few years and was a homemaker most of her life. Being a devoted Catholic, Yvette was a member of the Ladies of Ste. Anne at Holy Family Church and was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish. Yvette enjoyed music. She played the mandolin and the organ. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, playing cards and Scrabble. She was a wonderful cook and was especially known for her whoopie pies and French meat pies. Mostly, Yvette was a loving mother who cared deeply for her children and her family. Survivors include her son Paul Morin and his wife Claire of Wells; her daughter Claire Sabine of Greene; three brothers Leo Gagne of Florida, Maurice Gagne and his wife Romance of Lewiston and Gerard Gagne and his wife Joline of Lewiston; two sisters Jeanne Corriveau of Lewiston and Cecile Helie and her husband Raymond of Connecticut; four grandchildren Jeff Morin and his wife Rachel of N. Waterboro, Danielle Faucher and her husband Nathan of Lewiston, Stephen Sabine and his wife Felicia of Leeds and Elizabeth Sabine of Bradley; and also by nine great grandchildren.

Yvette was predeceased by her loving husband Roger H. Morin who died in 2003. The family would like to personally thank the staff at the Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn for their outstanding care and compassion during Yvette’s difficult journey.
