She was born in Newfoundland Canada on August 8, 1956, the daughter of late Anthony and Winnifred
(Moore) Helpert.
She attended school in Parkers Cove Newfoundland, before moving to the United States. Veronica was
married to Arnold Roy on March 19, 1976. She spent 27 years married and had two children which she
raised in Otisfield, Maine while working as a CNA in nursing homes. She and Arnold eventually went
separate ways, and she met the love of her life, Richard Briggs of Lewiston. They were married on
August 20, 2011.
Veronica (Ronnie) will always be remembered for her infectious smile, her sense of humor and carefree
attitude. She loved to dance and spend time with her friends and family. She would often been seen
out and about in her favorite car, her yellow Ford Mustang drinking Tim Hortons coffee.
She is predeceased by her parents Anthony and Winnifred of Newfoundland Canada, and her grandsons
Colton and Kayden King.
She is survived by her loving husband Richard of Auburn, her sisters Rita and husband Jack Vanic of
Pennsylvania, Theresa and husband Jack Shivok of Pennsylvania, Marie Coady of Ontario, Canada, and
Nora and husband Mike Cormier of Casco. Her son Christopher and daughter-in-law Rosina of S.
Portland, her daughter Katherine and husband Andy of Sabattus, her stepchildren Kevin and Kelly Briggs
of Lewiston, and her first husband Arnold Roy of Portland.
Ronnie leaves behind many other nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends that
all meant a great deal to her.
