Theresa Nadeau Harris, formerly of 5 Crowley Rd., Lewiston, passed away peacefully on September 4th, surrounded by her loving family, at the Lamp Nursing Home. She was born in Lewiston on June 12, 1929, the cherished daughter of Patrick and Yvonne (Labbe) Nadeau. She was the youngest of five children and had a special bond with her sister, Yvonne (Nadeau) Ward. Theresa found her lifelong companion in Harlan M. Harris, and they were united in matrimony on August 7, 1948. Sadly, Harlan predeceased her in 2003.
She is survived by her one and only daughter, Arlene (Harris) Duclos and her son-in-law, Paul Duclos, who both brought happiness and warmth into her life. Among the many joys in her life, Theresa held a special place in her heart for her two granddaughters, Michele (Duclos) Townsend, Michele’s husband Brett Townsend and Sandra (Duclos) Irish and her husband Michel Irish, and her three great-grandsons, Joshua Leclair, Cameron Irish, and Connor Irish.
Theresa's life was filled with passion and devotion to her loved ones. She had a remarkable talent for cooking, sharing her culinary creations with those lucky enough to taste her dishes. Her affection extended to her feline companions, as she had a deep love for her cats. Theresa was also a gifted artist, finding immense pleasure in expressing herself through art, and she delighted in the art of line dancing.
Throughout her life, Theresa displayed unwavering strength and love, particularly when her husband was afflicted by Polio in 1952. Together, they navigated the challenges of the disease and created a beautiful life filled with love and resilience. Theresa's impact on those around her was immeasurable, and her memory will forever be treasured.
Theresa Nadeau Harris touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her legacy will live on in the cherished memories she leaves behind.
May her soul find eternal peace, and may her family find comfort in the love and memories they shared.
A graveside service to celebrate Theresa's life will be held at the Maine Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, September 21st, at 10:00 AM.
Memorial visitation will be held Wednesday 6-8 PM September 20th at Pinette Dillingham & Lynch 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway Lewiston.
