Auburn- Roger J. Plourde 79, of Bates St. Lewiston died Monday January 9, 2012, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, with his family at his side. He was born in Fort Kent on June 5, 1932 a son of the late Denis and Mary(Cyr) Plourde. He was formerly married to Georgette Y. (Goyette), they were married on April 4, 1956. Roger proudly served his country in the US Army. He worked for many years as a machinist at Bates Mill. Roger was a member of D.A.V. He was an avid outdoorsmen, enjoying hunting and fishing, and tinkering, he was known as Mr. Fix It. He also loved spending time with family, especially his grand children and great grandchildren. He leaves 3 daughters: Lucienne Tremaine of Lewiston, Tammy Plourde of Lewiston and Janet Morin and her companion Tom Emond of Lewiston, five sons: Roger Plourde and his companion Terry Temple of Lewiston, George Plourde and his wife Marie of Lewiston, Gene Plourde of VA, Claude Plourde and his wife Rebecca of Lewiston and Scott Plourde and his wife Angela of Mechanic Falls, a sister Priscilla Smith of FL, four brothers: Raynold Plourde and his wife Connie of FL, Carleton Plourde and his wife Jeannette of Lewiston, Harold Plourde and his wife Debra of Lisbon Falls and Robert Plourde of Lewiston, 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Marcel Bilodeau and two brothers Richard and Rodrick Plourde. There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Friday 10 Am at The Fortin Group Lewiston. Committal will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
