Roger was born on August 11, 1943 to Albert and Annette Pelletier.
He was one of ten children born and raised in Lewiston.
After attending Lewiston schools, he married the love of his life Jeannette Patry at St. Peter's Basilica and together they raised four children.
Roger worked as a career firefighter in Lewiston until his retirement in 1993 after 27 years of dedicated service. He also worked for several local companies over the years including: Country Kitchen, Lewiston Crushed Stone, Head Start, Cianbro, Hudson Bus Lines, R. B. Allen and he owned and operated Roger's Compressor Service for many years. There was nothing Roger couldn't do...no, seriously, nothing.
His greatest joys in life included camping with his family, traveling and cruising including recent trips to Florida, Aruba and the Western Caribbean, watching NASCAR races, doing jigsaw puzzles, watching his grandson Joey play hockey, fishing with Karen, cooking his famous spaghetti sauce and a big batch of Mulligan Stew. He loved to drive even working for Lee Auto up until his death. Roger created wooden heirlooms for his children which included baby cradles and hand-crafted toy boxes. Though his initial response may have been a bark, there was no bite behind it and he would do anything for his friends and family. Having lived in the same home for over 40 years, Roger and Jeannette developed an extended family of neighbors. They even enjoyed many neighborhood parties through the years. The real legacy Roger leaves is four children who adored him including his three sons who work every day to be the kind of husband and father he was and a daughter who now knows that a woman is to be treated like a queen: cherished and respected. He also leaves 9 grandchildren who thought their Pepere was the strongest man in the world.
His death has left a hole in the lives of many, many people but none more than his beloved wife of 47 years. While we are devastated by the loss, we are so appreciative of the years that we had with him. Roger was predeceased by his parents and his brother Ray.
He is lovingly survived by his wife Jeannette, his three sons and their wives: Timothy & Karen and their children Aaron and Jillian, Thomas & Karen and their children Kristen, Matthew and Amy, James & Jen and their daughters Emerson and Ellery and one daughter, Amy and her children Grace and Joseph. He also leaves one great grandchild born on June 22, 2011 - Abigail Elliette Pelletier. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Richard and Rose Pelletier, Claire and Don Feeney, Norm and Jeannine Pelletier, Delores and Tony Levesque, Claudette Spear, Connie and Steve Ludington, Jeannine Pelletier and Bill Sylvester and Michelle and Ed Connor. He is also survived by extended family including many, many nieces and nephews.
Roger's final act of generosity was being a donor after his death. His tissue will be used to help many burn victims and others.
